Job Description
The Stanford University Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) is currently accepting applications for its Business Strategy internship* for the summer of 2023.
The Business Strategy staff provides business insights using analytics and helps teams drive new initiatives and solutions forward. The summer internship program will expose participants to projects that improve Stanford Athletics’ outreach efforts, increase attendance, and enhance the Stanford Athletics brand. The goal of the program is to develop future business strategy analysts. During this internship, you will learn and practice skills such as, but not limited to:
  • Collecting and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Creating and evaluating market segmentation within existing customer databases
  • Developing reporting dashboards for internal partners
  • Providing administrative support for the External Relations department
  • Preparing documentation of business processes
  • Conducting market research to support ongoing projects
We are looking to develop students who are
  • Exhibiting an exceptional work ethic and professionalism
  • Undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
  • Familiar with data visualization tools (DOMO, Tableau, etc.)
  • Able to operate both independently and as part of a team
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Our goal is to create a learning environment that provides access and experience in the day-to-day life of our Business Strategy team. This is a ten-week internship, beginning May 30 and ending August 4, and interns can participate up to 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. We can be flexible around start date, end date, and hours as we understand students may have summer classes, jobs, or other commitments.
