As a strategic business partners, we work closely with our product teams and contribute throughout the product development life cycle to develop new products, features, and enhance legacy products.

What you will be doing?

You will collaborate with members of a cross-functional development team to improve the user experience for BY products and applications. As a Senior UX researcher in the team you will steer UX projects through full process, from understanding our users and their needs, to testing concepts and prototypes, through launch and monitoring solutions in the market. You will follow a user-centered design approach and work collaboratively to research, design, and validate innovative solutions to complex problems. The role will provide ample opportunities—both on projects that have immediate impact on the business as well as explorations that shape our long-term strategy, vision and UX direction.

This position requires strong research, storytelling, and organization skills, business acumen and the ability to work across teams. The ability to establish a strong point of view – informed by market and user level insights – and to leverage that to focus and define product strategy is a must. You will work closely with other UX designers, researchers, writers, data science and engineering teams to ensure that we are addressing the most critical needs and opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate on UX Research documentation and contribute to refining BY UX Research process, templates and toolkit.
  • Execute a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods such as, but not limited to, user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and card-sorting.
  • Identify stakeholders across Blue Yonder and bring them along as you provide the qualitative and quantitative user feedback to influence product development at different granularity, from product strategy to cross-platform coherence to feature usability.
  • Excel at defining user research methods to use to answer questions about users and validate design decisions by gathering data needed for each project, based on product goals, and business/technical constraints
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually. Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented.
  • Plan, analyze and communicate competitive market landscape, user-needs, task-flows, conceptual modeling, information architecture design, interaction design, and usability testing.
  • Produce, independently and in collaboration with other UX researchers, a wide variety of supporting materials, including user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flow-charts, design-prototypes, customer journey maps as well as design specifications for product design activities.
  • Define UX approaches, metrics, and work with others on research planning. Innovate and develop new approaches to measure user’s experiences.
  • Create research strategies that leverage existing data to complement the additional research that you need to execute. Key to this accountability will be identifying opportunities for growth, gaps and user pain points, as well as potential delighters.
  • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes other designers, project management, business owners, software developers and data scientists.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master's in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, User Experience Design, or a related field
  • Excellent communication skills, presentation skills and organization skills.
  • 10+ years (8+ years for Master’s) of User Experience Research experience in an applied research setting, and (Physical or Digital) product research and development with a multidisciplinary team (Visual, Interaction, ID, Tech Engineer, etc.)
  • Passion about discovering great insights and define opportunity/innovation spaces.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Strong both Qualitative and Quantitative research skills; solid analytical skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of statistics and the principles of experiment design.
  • Working knowledge of at least one of the research tools such as Dovetail, UserZoom, Morae, etc.
  • Experience with data-centric analytical or intelligent applications is a plus Knowledge of programming languages (Python, C++, R, or JS) or GitHUb is a plus
  • Working knowledge of local and global design research markets. Ability to apply design thinking in data gathering and analysis/synthesis activities.
  • Experience in designing enterprise-scale software solutions in supply chain industry or related industry is a plus
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
  • Good understanding of client management and project management. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a default consulting process that requires service mentality, willingness to learn and commitment to deliver.

  • The salary range for this position is $146,245.00 - $184,415.00.
The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
