- Understand the business and competitive positioning of the Company and apply to strategic rebate programs set in place by the business
- Provide a high level of service to both internal and external stakeholders
- Review and manage month end rebate accrual entries for builders, installers, dealers, distributors, and retail
- Drive sales and operations activity and minimize volume erosion through aged accrual balances and claim activity review
- Mentor and train new hires to help them develop them in their roles
- Assist in process improvements and projects to streamline rebate processes, improve the customer experience, and support department objectives.
- Perform trend analysis and leverage operational knowledge of sales and business activity to inform accrued expense entries
- Act as liaison between James Hardie and the customer and work together to resolve outstanding issues that prevent quick payment processing
- Coordinate with the sales department for required approval and backup and for guidance from the GL Team and management
- Create contract addendums/changes for rebate program changes.
- Perform financial analysis to understand trends of builder claiming patterns and provide visibility and insights to the business for proactive decision making
- Develop templates for key builder accounts to expedite payment processing and reduce data inconsistencies and errors
- Ensure adequate back up documentation is provided to support a payment request. Review claim backup thoroughly and manage escalation flow of approvals based on payment amount thresholds. Ensure payments are made within accounting guidelines
- Ensure that accruals are completed accurately and efficiently to avoid large controllable catchups or take-backs that will negatively impact price
- Process national builder claims, approximately 10% of total sales. Create and maintain contracts for National Accounts customize contract language to include custom language clauses. Assist in the review of externally produced contracts, loading and tracking of signed documents
- Support business initiatives in executing strategic initiative, e.g., revamping a builder ability to claim through the rebate portal, providing discounts front end instead of rebates through invoice verification
- Create a process with Pricing Program Manager to maintain table updates and ensure that most current rates and tables are used for claim processing
- Partner with outside sales representatives and account managers to understand payment versus accrual variances and adjust rebate forecast accordingly
- Partner with IT to maintain the backend of the rebate tool, products, elevation, and changes. Increase reporting automation and visibility to allow for detailed analytics and program profitability
- Ensure review and audit of any rebate paid out by the Rebates team and that claims are submitted properly in accordance to established processes and procedures
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in Pricing or a similar field required.
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel, with ability to learn other/ proprietary software
- Customer service or sales experience desired.
- Ability to interface with multiple departments to align objectives and communicate program initiatives, manage accruals, streamline issues, and work together to solve problems
- Good analytical skills and basic accounting knowledge
- Ability to interface effectively with customers and partner to solve problems
- Organization skills with accurate work product
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
