JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. Logistics Analyst, PG&A is responsible for achieving delivery, quality, and cost objectives within transportation operations between Polaris PG&A suppliers, distribution centers and customers. Act as a transportation liaison between carriers, distribution centers, dealer support, finance and internal clients, coordination operations and projects which drive continuous improvement to meet Polaris’ objectives. The Sr. Logistics Analyst is expected to leverage strong performance monitoring, analysis, critical thinking, and decision-making skills to optimize freight expenses while maintaining a high level of customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proactively identify and communicate freight issues and recommendations
  • Coordinate logistics suppliers/carriers and monitor their performance thru KPIs
  • Collaborate with PG&A product development and distribution teams to reduce freight expenses
  • Responsible for contributions to all aspects of logistics financials, planning, analysis and execution including inbound, outbound, and transfer freight expenses across North America within selected modes (Small Parcel, Less-Than-Truckload, Truckload, etc.)
  • Demonstrate strong performance management with carriers
  • Translate business needs and priorities into actionable logistics strategies
  • Control transportation processes for Polaris’ products, supporting carrier transitions, new DCs and dynamic operational requirements
  • Source and execute process improvement opportunities to reduce logistics waste and cost while increasing safety, quality, and delivery results
  • Support annual/ad hoc contract and RFP efforts for assigned services/carriers
  • Analyze, report and act upon information/insights regarding logistics financial and operational performance
  • Ensure compliance with all logistics rules and regulations in relation to PG&A operations
  • Coordinator for operations (local and international), logistics service providers and customer service team to ensure smooth daily operations to meet customer/dealer satisfaction requirements
  • Support customer service by providing accurate information on escalated issues related to delivery
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Analytical curiosity to uncover new methods of transportation concepts to drive results
  • College degree in Operations, Logistics, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Strategic vision and ability to properly evaluate tradeoffs in managing logistics costs
  • Logistics/Supply Chain experience of 5+ years
  • Proven track record of decision making, cost reduction, problem solving and process improvement
  • Ability to learn and become self-sufficient with data warehouse query tools
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams toward a common goal
  • Financial acumen related to monthly accruals, budget tracking and forecasting
