Opportunity


The Sr. HR Generalist is responsible for managing the company’s benefits, compensation, HRIS administration, and policies and compliance. This role will act as the main driver and primary contact for these functions. The Sr. HR Generalist will partner with the People Business Partner and Operations team to develop and execute People and Operations strategies and activities that support the company and its employees.


This role requires a strong attention to detail, an innate curiosity, and a bias towards action. This role is expected to become an expert in our company systems, policies, and practices, and will be expected to operate autonomously. The ideal candidate enjoys diving into systems, doing routine administrative work, analyzing data, and working closely with a variety of partners/stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Project manage miscellaneous initiatives as needed
  • Maintain data integrity for all employee data across internal systems
  • Oversee vendor relationships for benefits, HRIS, and HR compliance
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by staying apprised of existing laws and regulations and updates to legal requirements
  • Facilitates implementation of open enrollment, changes to benefits plans, and employee education
  • Serve as main point of contact for employees throughout the org as needed, answering questions regarding HRIS, benefits, compensation, company policies and escalating up when necessary
  • Maintain the company’s compensation program, such as pay bands and compensation philosophy
  • Recommend benefit programs and options to management by studying employee requirements, trends, and developments in benefits offered by other organizations
  • Own the employee life cycle from onboarding to offboarding
  • Serve as primary administrator for compensation and benefit programs, including leaves of absences
  • Manage the company HRIS, from daily administration to features and setup
  • Advise managers and senior leaders about matters related to compensation
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure alignment in job offers
  • Research market trends and evaluate compensation program accordingly
  • Support management’s decision-making process by analyzing benefit options and predicting future costs
  • Support semi-annual performance review process and setup


Requirements


  • Deep knowledge and understanding of employee compensation and benefits, strategies, and communications
  • Capable of balancing needs of the business and the employees
  • Operates with financial responsibility
  • Agile, committed, flexible, and can deal with ambiguity
  • 5 - 7 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, specifically in employee benefits, compensation, and HR systems
  • Acts with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work effectively in teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with the aptitude to adapt communication approach and navigate various audiences, styles, and cultural nuances
  • Ability to think analytically and absorb data
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter, independent, quick and continuous learner
  • Excellent time management skills - meets deadlines and knows when to act with a sense of urgency
  • Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems, experience with Paycom a plus


Nice To Haves


  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification
  • Experience and desire to run DEIB programs
  • Related experience in start-ups, the Agency space, and/or multi-state organizations
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
  • Salary Range* $90,000 - $100,000 The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.


New Engen is headquartered in Seattle, WA. For this role, Remote candidates are preferred.
