Sr Graphic Designer (Project Hire)

Disney Corporate Creative Resources (DCCR) is a multi-disciplinary creative agency that provides creative services and solutions to a broad array of functional areas within The Walt Disney Company including D23: The Official Disney Fan Club. As DCCR continues to solidify its position as the internal creative agency of record supporting a cross-section of corporate business units, the graphic design team will handle a wide range of design responsibilities.

The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for executing a range of projects for DCCR clients. From print to digital, this position is critical to effectively communicating messaging across the organization and externally which includes branding, collateral, merchandise, print production, and presentations.

This is a Project Hire (PH) role with an anticipated project length of approximately 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• May include the full development of style guides covering use across various mediums including digital, print, video and events.
• Work with other departments within DCCR and across the company to achieve the best possible product
• Will be asked to attend client meetings in order to pitch creative concepts and finished work
• Create brand and marketing campaigns from start to finish
• Supervise junior designers in the development of design projects including providing art direction and assisting with the acquisition and approval of Disney brand assets
• Apply ingenuity, creativity, analytical, and organizational skills to identify and evaluate design problems and develop strong solutions
• Take a lead role in the creation of modern, compelling, unique, and inventive designs across both multiple platforms including event graphics, email templates, and presentations. In addition, the role will work on the design of various premiums including t-shirts and pins.
• Prep files for production to exact requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of web design including mobile and responsive landscapes
• Aware of current market trends in both design and content consumption as well as current The Walt Disney Company brands, properties and priorities
• Ability to multitask between projects and clients, take feedback from multiple stakeholders, work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude, as well as work flexible hours as needed
• Advanced skills in visual design, information architecture, print standards, color theory and typography
• Five or more years of professional experience in a graphic design related field with a strong emphasis in both print and digital form
• Experience in a lead designer role, working on campaigns from concept to delivery as well as engaging with clients and managing stakeholder relationships
• Adapt creative products and deliverables to fit within the Disney brand guidelines
• Organized with the ability to prioritize while carrying large volumes of work
• Demonstrates creation of cutting-edge, original design solutions on rigorous deadlines with keen attention to detail
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in illustration, editorial and photography
• Experience with event design
• Experience in Keynote and/or PowerPoint design

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.

The hiring range for this position in California is $77,080.00 to $103,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

The hiring range for this position in California is $77,080.00 to $103,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
