Job Description

Position Overview

This position is responsible for supporting the Risk department and reports to the Risk, Program Responsibility Manager. The Program Responsibility Specialist will be the initial point of contact for all day-to-day compliance-related activity for an assigned scholarship program.

Essential Functions

  • Draft new and/or updated documentation related to new programs or changes to existing programs.
  • Assist with the research/investigation of allegations or concerns of fraud or misrepresentation of eligibility and/or reimbursement information.
  • Attend staff, departmental, interdepartmental meetings and other programs assigned by the Program Responsibility Manager, or another member of the Risk management team.
  • Assist on special projects pertaining all current and new scholarship programs.
  • Assist with preparation of subpoenaed documentation.
  • Responsible for requests to vet students, families, schools.
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing related to new projects, and improvements to current systems.
  • Assist with monitoring, reviewing, and recording all emails related to allegations or concerns of fraud or misrepresentation of eligibility and/or reimbursement information.
  • Identify process deficiencies and initiate corrective actions by informing leadership and engaging fully in process improvement.
  • Assist with execution of bi-annual public-school cross-checks provided to SUFS by the FLDOE.
  • Provide ad hoc support for the Risk Department that may include creating reports in excel and word, communicating with external partners,
  • Assist with execution of monthly or quarterly cross-checks provided to SUFS by the FLDOE.
  • Assist with escalations from other departments regarding compliance issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Equivalent of 1 year of customer service experience reviewing invoices or similar business documents OR a High school diploma. College courses preferred.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven record of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Microsoft excel and word experience.
  • Proven record of discretion.
  • Ability to think critically and make decisions using sound judgement, experience, and existing tools/resources, including applicable rules/regulations.
  • Ability to work independently with strong sense of focus, task -oriented, nonjudgmental, and clear sense of boundaries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with individuals inside and outside the Organization.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time in a fast-paced environment and can adapt quickly to change.
