POSITION TITLE Independent Living Advocate / Direct Support Professional (Human Services) ORGANIZATION ETTA (non-profit) EXPERIENCE Some professional or personal experience supporting individuals with special needs (or related experience) is beneficial. (Caregiving experience is helpful, but not required.) LOCATION Multiple job openings throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area (including L.A., the San Fernando Valley and surrounding communities). Full time is 30 to 40 hours per week and Benefits Eligible). Part Time is up to 29 hours per week - all shifts available. SCHEDULES & SHIFTS Day Shift: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Evening Shift: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Overnight Shift: 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. *Choose a schedule that work around your availability. START DATE As soon as possible HOURLY RATE OF PAY Starting at $18 per hour. The " Independent Living Advocate" in ETTA's SLS (" Supported Living Services ") department is responsible for providing advocacy, skill building, and support in the daily operations of ETTA ' s SLS clients' homes. You will be matched with one of our clients (an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities) The two of you will work together (one-on-one | 1:1) As your client's staff, you will support their success at home and in the surrounding community (prompting, motivating, and being a role model) Activities will be a combination of routine tasks and responsibilities for your client - as well as engaging in fun, recreational, social, and entertaining activities, including coming up with new things to do and look forward to! Your weeks may include, for example: Supporting your client in them keeping their home organized, clean, safe, and stocked with necessary items, such as groceries and supplies. Going to the market, the mall, the park, special events, periodic doctor appointments, social visits, etc. Being active, having FUN, and simply living life is at the top of the list! Ultimately, you will play a vital role in guiding and inspiring your client toward achieving personal goals and growing more independent.
