Ballers & Bookworms is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the Greater New Jersey area. Ballers & Bookworms’ goal is to level the playing field within interscholastic sports by ensuring student-athletes have access to quality athletic training, nutrition, academic support, and financial assistance. Ballers & Bookworms provides athletic training, academic support, and financial assistance at no cost to the student-athletes and their families. Ballers & Bookworms is looking to hire a Social Media Marketing Intern to help spread awareness of and engage the community with Ballers & Bookworms’ initiatives to level the playing field.
Description:
Ballers & Bookworms is seeking a part-time Social Media Marketing Intern. The internship will run from July to September of 2023 with the opportunity to extend depending on the candidates availability and desire to continue in the role. This role will report directly to the Head of Social Media Marketing and when necessary, the Executive Director. Please note: this is an unpaid internship, however, Certified Volunteer hours will be recorded for personal use. The internship will be held remotely but the candidate must be located in the Greater New Jersey area in order to attend in-person events as needed. The team is looking to fill the position immediately.
Responsibilities:
What you’ll do:
The Social Media Marketing Intern is expected to create, post, and manage a minimum of two (2) social media posts a week across all Ballers & Bookworms social media platforms. In addition to content creation, the intern will create, manage, and utilize an editorial calendar for all social media platforms. Additionally, it is expected that the intern will work with the Head of Social Media Marketing to generate and share an executive content plan that details a roadmap for growing Ballers & Bookworms’ social media platforms. This plan will be inclusive of increasing social engagement, viewership, following, and other relevant metrics as decided by the team. While the position is remote, the intern must be able to attend all in-person events (fundraisers, volunteer events, etc.) in order to gather social media content in the form of photos and videos.
Requirements:
● Must be 18 years or older
● Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
● Position is remote but candidate must be located in the greater New Jersey area in order to physically attend all events in the tri-state area
● Must have their own technology and equipment (laptop, camera, phone, Wi-Fi)
● Has a working knowledge of social media platforms’ strategy and features (mainly Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter)
● Previous experience with Canva and or Photoshop is required
● Previous experience with both photo and video editing is required
● Previous experience with social copy is desired but not necessary
