Position Summary
United Texas Bank is adding a Small Business Development Lender to our team. This position reports to the EVP/CRA Officer and is responsible for networking, soliciting, and originating loans to small businesses (Gross Revenues $1MM or less) primarily in low to moderate income areas in the Metroplex. Ideal candidates will have experience developing a small business lending portfolio along with networking in the community. Additionally, candidates should have experience in all stages of the loan process.
Essential Responsibilities
The following job duties are an overview of the position and not meant to be an all-inclusive list:

• Manage risk; understand and manage risks in the business, adhere to policies, procedures & controls and ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules & regulations;
• Work closely with the CRA Officer and help identify needs and programs to better serve the low to moderate income community.
• Manage loan portfolio with attention to performance, renewals, exceptions, past dues, etc.
• Ensure all transactions adhere to sound risk management/pricing practices as well as all internal credit/regulatory requirements. Monitor portfolio to ensure accurate risk profile and to minimize documentation exceptions;
• Participate in community, civic, and business development opportunities for the purpose of increasing the bank’s visibility and generating new business opportunities;
• Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations as well as internal Bank policies and procedures;
• Act as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of small business customers;
• Participate in all stages of the loan process; structuring, pricing, underwriting, loan presentation, closing and servicing;
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of all loan products as well as other bank lending services;
• Independently execute a calling program to self-originate Small Business Banking relationships in accordance with bank policies and revenue objectives. Responsible for retention and growth of assigned customer loan portfolio, with an emphasis on proactive client contact and cross-selling;

Education And Experience

• BS/AS Degree in Business, Economics or Finance, or equivalent financial experience
• Proven track record of working in partnership to achieve goals
• Strong customer service experience to include process driven outbound calling
• 2+ years' experience as a small business banking lender

Skills And Competencies

• Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering or other unlawful activities.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Desire and ability to function as a team member realizing all members of the team are vital to its success.
• Strong oral and written communications skills able to articulate clearly to all levels of the organization and with new and existing customers, and members of the community.
