Small Business Management Consultant

After nearly 20 years in corporate America and management consulting, I’ve spent the last five building two successful small businesses. One of them has outgrown it’s “scrappy” roots and needs some polish.

Looking for an advisor well-versed in organizational design, human performance, and has minimum 10 years directly managing teams.

Ideal candidate has management consulting background, including process improvement, people development, and communication.

Ideal “mental set” is someone with many years of corporate and/or consulting experience but wants to get away from that “false grind” while still has a hunger and drive for achievement. "Teacher" at heart makes you a very strong candidate.

Immediate need would be approx three months of on-site observation and info gathering on team members and operation, developing formal roles & responsibilities, performance review program, and processes & procedures. Deliverables will also include staff assessments. Extension of work into management coaching and mentoring likely.

Schedule is flexible but on-site. It's a small business, so no travel budget and cannot afford the "bill rate" of a firm. Independent consultant is ideal.

I envision us working together in the beginning to get you up to speed and then moving to an as-needed basis with weekly updates.

There is a possibility of this becoming a longer term or permanent role.
