Job Description

Peoplepack LLC Executive Search has been retained to conduct the search for the incoming Senior Vice President of HR for an established, multi-site, home medical equipment company with ~450 employees (300 outside of US), headquartered in Los Angeles, CA.


This job requires on-site presence, and we are only considering candidates who are located in California, or are willing to relocate, at this time.


About the Job

We are seeking a dynamic HR leader to join the team in the role of SVP of HR. Reporting directly to the CEO, the SVP of HR will be responsible for providing leadership and people services for culturally diverse employee base, including setting overall human capital strategy, designing and implementing culture and employee engagement initiatives, driving employee training/coaching and leadership development programs to attract and retain top talent and optimizing the talent strategy and the overall suite of HR operations services.


The SVP of HR will support the CEO in the role of trusted advisor regarding current and emerging HR issues and opportunities with the goal of developing a world-class team of health care and administrative professionals who are excited about supporting the mission, vision and values of the company. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement culture and engagement initiatives aimed at reducing turnover and maximize inclusion and belonging
  • Measure, analyze, and regularly report on the effectiveness of HR metrics and people strategy initiatives and KPIs
  • Oversee HR operations/employee relations and guide field managers to ensure compliance with policy, rules, and laws
  • Consult with business leadership to understand talent strengths, gaps, and needs to develop workforce plans to drive engagement, retention, and performance
  • Collaborate with Marketing to design and implement HR efforts that communicates the company’s patient-centered culture, mission, vision, and values that employees can connect with
  • Optimize onboarding and new employee orientation to ensure new teammates get a warm welcome and are set up for success
  • Oversee and drive efforts in learning and development to create a culture of coaching and promote internal growth paths for all levels of employees


About You

The ideal candidate is an experienced HR leader, with prior success leading high performing HR teams in the healthcare industry, preferably in the HME/DME space, respiratory care, or post-acute provider setting. This person is a strong, yet approachable, executive who is able to set high level strategy while also being willing and able to "get in the trenches and roll up their sleeves" to execute on deliverables. The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership skills that include collaboration, culture building, coaching and developing teammates
  • Industry experience in Home Medical Equipment, respiratory care, or post-acute provider setting
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive human resources experience, including at least five or more years of senior management responsibility
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with ability to develop a high degree of personal credibility at all levels of the organization
