Senior Scientist

Skin Care Formulation - Morris Plains, NJ

COTY is looking for smart leaders who are fast and passionate.

• Building and understanding the competitive landscape and identifying consumer need gaps to develop the next generation of skin care products.
• Help facilitate and support technically sound decisions based on research, data, and consumer insights. Interpret and integrate multiple information to draw conclusions and do risk assessments.
• Aptitude and agility to learn how to translate consumer needs and insights into technical parameters and approaches
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, safety, and GMP
• Work closely with cross-functional internal and external partners in designing skin care products that deliver superior consumer performance
• Supporting end-to-end development including technical briefs, communication across functional teams, experimental design and establishing validation plans with support.
• Strong project management within Stage Gate process for new internal and external product development to deliver key milestones.
• Ability to work across R&D disciplines (process, analytical, packaging, TPM, procurement, etc..) as well as multifunctional teams to enable and drive projects forward.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• To design and develop new products from insights to global distribution.
• Managing/coordinating all necessary safety, claims, compatibility, and other testing to support the safety and efficacy of the new launches.

Qualifications

We’d love to see candidates who have:

Essential:

• B.S. in chemistry or related science field
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant skin care formulation experience
• Ability to identify and solve technical problems
• Ability to manage multiple activities and priorities.
• Project management skills with a record of delivering to set milestones.
• Ability to translate consumer needs into technical deliverables

Desirable:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• High level attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team player and exhibit a “can do” attitude
• Internally motivated and with a passion for Beauty
• Hands-on individual, strong organizational skills
• Ability to communicate science and technology to a non-technical community
