Develop efficient and selective chemical analytical procedures (with emphasis on High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) for assigned projects. Prepare qualification and validation protocols and reports for chemical analytical procedures and instrumentation. Perform method qualification, validation, and sample analysis, reviews data packages. Document all analyses per Standard Operating Procedures. Prepare high quality written documentation including notebooks, Standard Operating Procedures, and chemical analytical procedures and assist with regulatory documentation. Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation. Act as a technical consultant for other staff. Apply scientific knowledge (both theoretical and practical) for the resolution of analytical challenges including developing robust analytical methods, resolving technical issues related to Quality Control methods, separation of impurities and identification of unknown impurities, detecting the low levels of the impurities using sensitive methods as per regulatory requirements. Contribute to the technical growth of the department and company by providing technical guidance to entry level chemists, reviewing advanced analytical techniques for the development, presenting the key learnings to the cross functional stake holders, training analysts on new regulatory guidance from FDA or ICH. Lead internal or external projects such as Preclinical projects, Phase1-III and generic projects, Food and Drug Administration deficiencies in the area of oncology, narcolepsy, interacts with clients. Participates in self-development activities including training on advanced technical instrumentation, International Conference of Harmonization guidance’s, chromatography, X-Ray Powder Diffraction advancements.


Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30pm.


Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or a related field and five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a Good Manufacturing practices environment; or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or a related field and two years of work experience in a Good Manufacturing Practices environment.


Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in all of the following:


  • Experience with High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry, Ion Chromatography, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry;
  • Experience in method development and validation for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs); and
  • Experience with Karl Fisher, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, UltaViolet-Visible Spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Differential Scanning Calorimetry and Thermogravimetric Analysis.


Telecommuting permitted up to 10%.


International travel required up to 10%; Domestic travel required up to 10%.
