As a Senior Data Scientist i n the Chief Data Office (CDO) supporting Marketing, Sales & distribution , you will partner with our diverse team of Engineers, Economists, Computer Scientists, Mathematicians, Physicists, Statisticians and Actuaries tasked with mining our industry-leading internal data to develop new analytics capabilities for our businesses. The role requires a rare combination of sophisticated analytical expertise; business acumen; strategic mindset; client relationship skills, problem solving; and a passion for generating business impact. Here is what you can expect in a typical day:


  • Write production-level code and partner with machine learning engineers to push development code into production.
  • Continuously research new methods for solving business use cases, including new algorithms, modeling techniques, and other AI/ML techniques.
  • Execute all aspects of an advanced analytical project under guidance and in Agile framework
  • Responsible for hands-on data analysis, machine learning model development, model training, model testing, and business benefit calculations.
  • Partner with machine learning engineers to productionized machine learning models. Partner with data engineers to build data pipelines. Partner with software engineers to integrate solutions with business platforms.
  • Communicate and present complex data science concepts to business stakeholders through storytelling and continue building relationships with stakeholders.
The Skills and expertise you bring:


  • Applying a wide variety of statistical machine learning techniques to complex real world problems spanning analysis, predictive modeling, and optimization on structured and unstructured data
  • Ability to learn new skills, financial processes and products, marketing, and other business knowledge on an ongoing basis through self-initiative, collaboration, strategic thinking, and by seeking challenges.
  • Advanced degree (Masters, Ph.D.) in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Econometrics, Physics, Computer Science, Actuarial, Data Science, or comparable quantitative disciplines
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills with ability to present complex statistical concepts to non-analytical stakeholders (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and build/maintain consultative relationships with key business stakeholders.
Applied experience with several of the following:


  • Model Deployment: Understanding of AWS SageMaker and data pipelines.
  • Data Wrangling: Merge and model large structured and unstructured data sources (e.g. financial transactional, time-series, text, speech/audio and image) to generate insights and for modeling purposes.
  • Machine Learning: Knowledge of theory and development experience with machine learning methods for prediction and optimization including a wide variety of machine learning methods (regression, ensemble and boosted models, clustering, LSTMs, Bert, Generative AI, etc.)
  • Programming Languages: Python, SQL
  • Data Acquisition and Transformation: Identify, source, transform and join public, proprietary and internal data sources using SQL and NoSQL.
  • Statistics and Computing: Exceptional understanding of: Machine Learning, Probability, Statistics, and Programming for the purposes of explorative analysis, control-treatment statistical tests, A/B testing, segmentation, and hypothesis testing.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $94,700.00 to $156,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
