Job Description
Qualdoc is hiring a Formulations Chemist for an industrial chemical plant in Richmond, VA. This could be a mid-level to a senior-level chemist, but preference is given to PhD Chemist candidates. The R&D Formulations Chemist will work on a team of scientists and chemists to develop industrial fluids for electric and hybrid vehicle applications. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.


Job Duties


  • Engages with assigned teams and cross-functional stakeholders, such as Business, Process Development, Marketing, Customer Technical Services, Mechanical Testing, OEM Relationship Team, etc
  • Participates in technical and/or project reviews and presents findings as appropriate for internal and external audiences
  • Build relationships and be the primary technical resource for formulation questions for supported OEMs
  • Performs formulation and testing activities to meet established project objectives. Effective project management via use of the Product Development Process
  • Represent the company in technical conferences, societies and other industry activities. Maintain adequate level of technical expertise and self-development through study, seminars, etc. Stay informed of advanced developments inside and outside of the company
  • Technical lead and / or project lead for customer specific and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) based formulations globally as directed. Visit customers / OEMs as needed
  • Provide strategic insight for OEM opportunities
  • Promote the company culture, values, quality, and safety principles
Requirements


  • Able to lead a project team
  • PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or other relevant science field)
  • Experience in Data Management and Data Analytics
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers
  • Experience in Project Management
  • 5+ years of experience in formulations of industrial chemicals
