Head R&D, Medical It Applications

Must haves:

• Previous experience Leading and Managing a team.
• R&D and/or Medical Technology experience either as a developer &/or architect.
• Technical understanding, configuration experience and functional knowledge of some of the following applications is highly preferred: Veeva Vault applications, Documentum D2, Extedo, OpenLab, Maximo, Empower, MiniTab, AutoScribe, Siemens PCS7, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical applications and other common R&D and Medical applications.
• R&D and/or Medical application delivery experience required.
• Solid understanding of SaaS and the cloud.

The position involves serving as a trustworthy business partner to the Indivior R&D and Medical Business teams, leading a team of full-time, contractor and vendor resources to support R&D and Medical projects and operations. The Director, Business Partnering IT will require assistance with strategy and road mapping discussions with the business. Additionally, the successful candidate will need to examine the feasibility of innovation, specify the best solutions and enhancements in technical function and business utility, in compliance with regulations, to benefit the business. The position will require leading and overseeing the effort to define, test, and release/implement R&D and Medical applications, and conducting technical research/due diligence to recommend the use of cloud-based R&D and Medical applications.

The responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with global and local standards, working with the business to identify and develop processes and procedures for applications, facilitating the continuous improvement process, providing project leadership to ensure alignment with business requirements, and enhancing applications. The successful candidate will ensure IT security risks, system security, and controls are implemented and followed in the development and deployment of systems. The role also involves managing escalated issues for R&D and Medical applications and overseeing large global initiatives through the project lifecycle.

Other responsibilities include coordinating and communicating with the team and key stakeholders, ensuring proper creation and maintenance of project documentation, providing oversight for proper change management for applications when they are introduced, and performing Vendor Management with Implementation Partners and Cloud Software Service Providers.

The ideal candidate should possess R&D and/or Medical application delivery experience, R&D and/or Medical Technology experience either as a developer and/or architect, and technical understanding, configuration experience, and functional knowledge of some of the following applications: Veeva Vault applications, Documentum D2, Extedo, OpenLab, Maximo, Empower, MiniTab, AutoScribe, Siemens PCS7, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical applications, and other common R&D and Medical applications.

They should also have experience with application maintenance (updates, upgrades), monitoring (e.g., backups), end-user support for R&D and/or Medical IT applications, liaising with business stakeholders on short and long-term objectives and strategy, creating IT process and technology roadmaps in support of those objectives and strategy, and possess detailed knowledge of R&D and/or Medical business processes and an understanding of the broader business.

Additionally, the candidate must have a solid understanding of SaaS and the cloud, previous experience leading and managing a team, strong organization, planning, and time management skills, including experience leading and managing projects, experience supporting internal and external Audits (from an IT perspective) for the R&D and/or Medical business areas, familiarity with GxP processes and the associated documentation required, familiarity with Installation (IQ), Operational (OQ), and Performance (PQ) quality deliverables and when they are required in R&D, experience managing the adoption and implementation of Indivior R&D and/or Medical applications, exposure/working knowledge of R&D and/or Medical data integrations, experience writing business feasibility reports and authoring and performing presentations, and experience managing escalated issues in the R&D and/or Medical IT space.

Core competencies required for the role include Pharmaceuticals R&D and/or Medical IT Business process and technical implementation expertise, the ability to interact clearly with business users to ensure that business solutions meet business needs, the ability to create trust and credibility with multiple stakeholders, willingness, and ability to work with multifunctional teams globally, operational and end-user support experience based on Standard Operating Procedures, the ability to work in a fast-paced, project-oriented, potentially high-pressure environment, and basic financial tools and techniques in budgeting and forecasting.
