Who You Are...
As a Welder D, this position fabricates metal components to assemble Grid Decking and expansion joints, Aluminum & Steel Rail, and less complex components.
- Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
- Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or drawings to determine appropriate welding process.
- Weld to AWS D1.1 and 1.5 standards
- Preforms routine MIG welding operations.
- Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.
- Perform regular and basic preventative maintenance checks and tasks.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow instructions from Fitter or Supervisor.
- All other duties as assigned.
What Do You Need...
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force consistently to move objects.
- A focus on problem solving, safety, and teamwork.
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of commonly used welding techniques, procedures, symbols
- Ability to prioritize and use time efficiently.
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manual.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tolls, grinders, drills, torches, and plasma cutters.
- High school diploma or equivalent
