Job Description

About the team

Listing Media Services is a real estate photography startup within Zillow’s ShowingTime+ brand. Our mission is to fulfill the media marketing needs of real estate agents across the United States. We are on a path to 2-4x the business this year. The Program Management team sits at the nexus of operations and product. We use data to understand our current state, identify opportunities to improve, create the plan to iterate rapidly, and manage change as we quickly scale to the largest photography business in the country. Our core functions include workforce planning, OKR management, data analytics, process design, continuous improvement, and product & partner support. Our primary customer is our Photography Operations team. Our photographers are the core of our business. We serve our Operations leaders so they can serve our photographers. We partner closely with HR, Business Operations, Product, Design, and Marketing to achieve our shared mission. Our team is light on its feet and able to adapt quickly to new information.

About the role

As a Program Manager specializing in Sales and Operations Planning, you will be the authority on our variable headcount (photographer, etc.) workforce strategy, with a primary focus on crafting headcount plans to support our business growth. You will play a crucial role in understanding our workforce, developing headcount models, and planning for staffing increases, all while driving cost reduction initiatives and upholding quality standards across the organization. By collaborating with HR and recruiting, you will ensure that we have the right talent available when needed to achieve our business objectives.

One of your key responsibilities will be to monitor the experience of our photographers and develop an employment strategy that attracts top talent. You have control over the most significant cost and quality lever in our operations. You will own all aspects of headcount planning. You will be vital in driving process improvement through Lean principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and business unit leaders to gather and analyze data on current and projected headcount, turnover, and workforce composition.
  • Continuously monitor and refine headcount models to reflect changes in business strategy, market conditions, and internal workforce dynamics.
  • Develop and maintain robust headcount models to forecast hiring needs and support workforce planning across the organization.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key partners, including Operations, HRBPs, Recruiting, Finance, Business Operations and Strategy, Business Intelligence Engineers, and Product teams.
  • Communicate headcount planning results and insights to stakeholders, and drive alignment on hiring strategies and execution.
  • Support the S&OP process by providing insights on workforce capacity, constraints, and resource optimization opportunities.
  • Develop and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of headcount modeling and workforce planning.
  • Translate business strategies and objectives into workforce requirements and create detailed hiring plans to meet these goals.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to establish hiring priorities, timelines, and strategies based on headcount forecasts.
  • Ensure alignment between headcount plans and budgetary constraints, working closely with Finance to manage and optimize resource allocation.
  • Monitor and analyze key workforce metrics (hours, overtime, utilization, employee costs, etc.) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, and present findings to senior management.
  • Leverage our unit economics to identify opportunities for improvement and lead projects to reduce cost.
