Job Description

ProAmpac - Auburn, WA is seeking an Operations Planning Manager.

This position is responsible to meet the goals and objectives of the organization by overseeing site supply chain activities including near term planning, scheduling, material management, logistics and inventory management processes. This position will drive the plant level S&OP process, working closely with Sales, Operations to balance supply and demand, optimize inventory levels and machine efficiencies. All to minimize plant waste, maximize machine net effective feet per hour, and meet customer requirements.

  • Ensuring plant machine schedules maximize net effective feet per hour and minimize waste while meeting customer requirements.
  • Plan, develop and manage departmental expenses and budgets.
  • In partnership with the Divisional Supply Chain team, manage the demand and capacity planning processes, ensuring that the end-to-end process is robust and plant planning/ scheduling team members are consistently utilizing the system and processes.
  • Responsible for the management and oversight of safety stock and overall inventory level. Ensure the plant is following best practices in inventory management in inventory control and optimization.
  • Ensure the plant is supporting the S&OP processes which include supporting demand and capacity planning, new product introductions, inventory optimization and reporting. Work to continually enhance the process.
  • Create and foster a high-performance culture, focused on engagement, accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and a sense of urgency.
  • Manage inbound and outbound transportation and logistics, ensuring supplier performance and network optimization.
  • Responsible for KPI’s related to supply chain planning, replenishment, and logistics.

  • Solid working Knowledge of operations processes and related manufacturing.
  • Experience in managing logistics
  • Solid understanding of best practices in planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years in Supply Chain Management or Operations discipline.
  • Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • BS degree in Business, Engineering or Operations management. MBA a plus.
  • Proven knowledge in leading a S&OP process.
  • Background in distribution and transportation network analysis and resulting execution of the network.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
  • Proven experience in developing High Performance Teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
