Job Description
At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe.


Our Healthcare Customers are federally mandated (by Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services or CMS) requiring vendors to have the COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption. There are select Customers who do not accept any exceptions. Unvaccinated Associates may be excluded from working at a Customer site, require routine testing with an approved exemption (if accepted by the Customer) or have limited Customer access impacting their ability to remain employed. Additionally, we may be required to meet state mandates on COVID-19 vaccination, exemptions and/or booster requirements. This position is a Customer-facing role that falls under a state or CMS mandate.


Position Summary


Provide consultative knowledge and insight to our customers by performing operational assessments in sterile processing, surgical support areas, and endoscopy, helping our Customers understand process improvement opportunities and selling in services where applicable. Provide subject matter expertise and sales support to our sales staff, educating internally and externally on our products and services. Participate in contract negotiations and proposals to ensure STERIS is able to meet customer needs, by providing high quality tools and resources. This role will include frequent, nationwide, overnight travel.

Duties


  • Business Strategy: Implements the OR/SPD business strategy and plan with the OR/SPD Sales Division and other members of the OR/SPD management team.
  • Operational Processes: Ensures that appropriate processes, systems, and policies are in place to facilitate the expansion of the OR/SPD Division.
  • Assessments: Performs strategic and operational assessments in sterile processing, surgical support areas, and endoscopy.
  • Marketing: Assists in development of OR/SPD marketing content and brand to internal and external customers with focus on: competitive advantages, white papers/case studies and sales presentations to ensure that IMS is marketing items to its sales representatives and customers in a manner consistent with the STERIS brand. Conducts analysis of sales revenue/units by specific business model to ensure that the OR/SPD Division is focusing sales and operations teams on market demands.
  • Sales Support: Supports OR/SPD and field and inside sales representatives in relation to situations where a subject matter expert is needed to help the sales process proceed and grow product line revenue. Researches OR/SPD competitors, and provides on-going intelligence to OR/SPD and STERIS leadership. Also assists in the implementations of the Mobile SPD business.

  • Negotiations/Proposals: Work with and advise key business leaders during contract negotiations with customers. Must have sound understanding of financial indicators to ensure a favorable contract for both our customers and STERIS.
  • Other: Demonstrates complete understanding of Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department processes and the ability to manage, train and implement in a contracted facility.
  • Project Work: Will be assigned various value driven projects.
  • Legal Policies: Ensures proper operational processes are followed by all members of the STERIS team in conjunction with the Department of Health JCAHO, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, AORN standards and facilities goals and policies.
  • Analysis/Process Improvement: Monitors monthly and quarterly KPI reports to ensure service delivery efforts are meeting production goals and contractual agreements. Assists in the development and execution of process improvement plans based on results of monthly KPI data.


Education Degree


  • Bachelor's Degree


Required Experience


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; Master’s degree preferred.


Must have 8 years of experience working with Customers in the healthcare sector and/or tertiary care hospitals is preferred.


Minimum 5 years of Sterile Processing and process improvement experience


Must have a minimum of 4 years in a Sterile Processing leadership position or consulting position.


Pay range for this opportunity is [[$90,250]] - [[$121,485]]. This position is eligible for bonus.


Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
