Specialist, Development and Procurement


About The Job


CHANEL is looking for a Specialist to join our Development and Procurement Team in New York, NY. The Specialist will play a support role in managing the production of specialty fixtures, as well as manage bulk orders, and temp fixtures for supporting our Fragrance and Beauty division. This role interfaces with many internal and external teams and is a key partner for our Store Design team. Our ideal candidate will have 4 years of experience and a passion for negotiations and project management, with a focus on high quantity fixtures. This role will support a fabrication of retail custom fixtures, focusing on efficiency, cost management, vendor management, quality execution, and close out documents.

  • Support manager in purchasing fixtures, materials and components with new and existing vendors
  • Create strong project communication between internal and external partners
  • Implement strategic opportunities for cost savings and efficient timelines
  • Close out punch lists and project documents
  • Review and negotiate quotes
  • Vendor Management: Planning, sourcing, onboarding and continued development
  • Integrate Sustainable practices, materials and values
  • Travel for onsite visits, validating progress and execution of elevated details

What You Will Bring To The Team...


  • Familiarity with technical millwork drawings
  • Background in architecture, industrial design or millwork fabrication
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and brand standards
  • Understanding of current financial trends related to millwork
  • Creative thinker with the desire to strategize with various teams


Position Logistics:


  • Organize bidding, awarding consultants, and supervise their activities and outcome
  • Visit millwork facilities and ensure quality expectations working closely with the Store Design team
  • Issue purchase orders and process invoices
  • Source materials and components in bulk to support counter renovations
  • 4 years experience with architecture, industrial design or millwork fabrication
  • Purchase custom fixtures in bulk quantity to support counter renovations
  • Support internal business partners in forecasting budgets / timelines and updating as the project progresses
  • Coordinate logistics of product to warehouse or installation
  • 25% travel may be required
  • Display curiosity about sustainability initiatives, construction methods and sourcing strategies

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,700 through $80,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other components [may/will] include additional compensation, benefits and perks.
