Job Description

The Senior Manager of Sales (SMOS) assists the Director of Sales (DOS) with leading the Sales Team and aides in the collaboration with the Operations and Culinary teams to ensure flawless event execution.  The SMOS is responsible for selling the exciting experience of Topgolf primarily through contracted events.  The primary event market of focus for SMOS will be corporate clients which the SMOS will work directly with to build their perfect event. The SMOS will also assist with social market bookings as demand dictates in accordance with the company’s guest centric lead response Standards.  The SMOS will manage all events booked by the National Events team.  SMOS is responsible for delivering outstanding guest service throughout all stages of the sales process including ongoing post-event follow-up to ensure repeat business and referrals.  The SMOS is also expected to foster new client opportunities via outbound efforts and networking in the community to drive sales.

 

Topgolf participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

 

 

  • Participate in bi-weekly 1-on-1’s with DOS
  • Create, manage and confirm Event bookings using Delphi sales system including the documentation of all prospect and event client communication
  • Proactively strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency
  • Partner with DOS (Director of Sales) to foster a fun, competitive, results centered and engaged sales culture/environment
  • Manage Sales Admin weekly schedule in accordance with approved sales office hours coverage
  • Work venue sales office shifts each week as assigned by the DOS in accordance with company Standards for SMOS role
  • Strive to deliver an unparalleled guest experience on the phone, via email and with in-person communication from inquiry stage to post-event follow up
  • Manage all assigned leads with the utmost sense of urgency and in accordance with the company’s lead response time Standards
  • Partner with the National Events team to service all events booked by National Events Account Managers
  • Be open and eager to learn new sales skills
  • Lead regular Event Catering & Ops Meetings (a.k.a. Banquet Event Order - BEO Meetings) with representatives from the venue’s Culinary and Operations Team
  • Assist DOS with creation and implementation of sales contests focused on driving revenues as well as desired behaviors by Sales Associates that promote a continual improvement
  • Assist Sales Account Managers, Social Account Consultants and Sales Account Representatives with questions related to their events and event prospects, while following all established by the DOS and Topgolf
  • Detail any changes/updates to events and any specific needs for a successful event execution by Operations and Culinary based on the guests’ expectations
  • Work in collaboration with the sales team and other departments within the venue
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Proactively engage in outbound sales activity and networking in the community in adherence to established business development Standards for the venue and SMOS role in an effort to grow sales revenues for events
  • Participate in management team meetings and venue pre-shifts for Associates in accordance with Topgolf’s established Sales Team Standards
  • Contribute to overall venue sales team revenue goals by meeting or exceeding personal sales quotas as assigned by DOS in advance on a monthly (period), quarterly and annual basis

  • Recruit, Hire, Train, Mentor and Coach Sales Team Admins
  • Conduct and document bi-weekly 1-on-1’s with Sales Admins
  • Assist DOS with leading daily and weekly sales team meetings
  • Foster client relationships through ongoing communication with contacts to ensure repeat business and referrals
  • Utilize established reports and dashboards to ensure personal sales Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) are being met or exceeded

 

  • Capable of managing multiple projects/programs simultaneously, while remaining calm under pressure
  • 5+ years of current sales experience, preferable in hospitality, restaurant or entertainment venue focused on event/ticket sales
  • Strong interpersonal and people skills as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent self-accountability for high personal standards of conduct and professionalism
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM Applications
  • Process-oriented, highly organized, fast and accurate, able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Sport Management, or Sales/Marketing preferred. Will also consider applicants with relevant work history
  • Excellent pace and energy, self-motivated
  • Flexible in approach; can readily adapt to business and team needs and changes
  • Solid organizational and project management skillsets
  • Ability to maintain and project professionalism, internally and externally, at all times
  • Ability to communicate effectively with new guests, return guests, co-workers and management
