The Senior Manager of Logistics reports to the Senior Director of Logistics, and is responsible for carrier operations, execution, delivery performance, service, quality, cost and Customer experience in Ferguson’s supply chain network.

The Senior Manager of Logistics leads the strategy and design of the logistics network and manages operations and service for all modes of domestic logistics for Ferguson Supply Chain; TL, LTL, Courier and Parcel. The individual is responsible for the ongoing cost and service effectiveness of the logistics network, developing and employing Key Performance Indicators to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within Ferguson supply chain with its strategic carrier partners.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and building relationships with Ferguson’s domestic logistics providers, negotiating for services and serving as a lead in logistics partnerships. The individual meets with carriers regularly to provide insights and to drive performance improvement through the development of carrier scorecards, using contractual and business relationships.

This position serves as a key decision maker in meeting Ferguson’s interests in serving its customers and business partners. This position is also responsible for the strategy and configuration of Logistics planning and related systems, including specific responsibility for overseeing daily planning of all DC outbound shipments company-wide using MercuryGate TMS.

Areas of Impact:

Responsibility and ownership of over $500 million in freight spend across all lines of business; creating and implementing policies with internal associates and departments, as well as with Suppliers and Carriers!

Problem Solving:

Create and reinforce business flows in a highly matrixed, diverse environment with several thousand Associates with direct impact on carrier service, pricing, selection and usage. Complex, multi-faceted cost and service decisions involving the determination of systematic and network design to support present and future state supply chain challenges in distribution and Logistics.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain, or similar subject area
  • 10+years’ experience in Logistics management, logistics operations, procurement and analysis preferred
  • Experience with Logistics Management Systems like MercuryGate
  • Ability to work independently and interface across internal departments and the Ferguson vendor and carrier community
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office
  • Logistics Analysis expertise to include LTL, Truckload, Parcel, and broad Supply Chain exposure in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

Pay band is $10,250 / month to $13,000 / month

Pay Range:

$10,250.00 - $13,667.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
