Battelle's Health Research and Analytics (HRA) business line is currently seeking a Logistics Manager to support our government customer in Portsmouth, VA (partial remote available). This Public Health (PH) program enables our government customer to maximize readiness through force health protection (FHP) strategies and solutions for current and potential Public Health (PH) threats. The core scientific and technical capabilities and product lines in this program are to conduct Health Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Analysis; Disease and Injury Prevention; and PH Consultation and Support for the benefit of active-duty service members, retirees, and their families. Battelle shall enable these capabilities and product lines by providing Scientific and Technical Information (STI) deliverables, by performing Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and other Research and Development (R&D) related analytical services.


Job Summary


Provides oversight of the FDPMU equipment sets, self-sustainment supplies, and serve as the main coordinating point of contact for the organic FDPMU “logistics component”, the combatant commands, medical planners, and the expeditionary medical support command. Responsible for precise planning, exercising, and organizing of personnel and equipment to ensure FDPMU missions are safe, effective, and successful.


Responsibilities


  • Ensures the equipment, weight and cube configurations are designed to be transported by land, air, and sea on short notice.
  • Plans and establishes logistics policies and procedures; exercises staff supervision over FDPMU logistics components.
  • Incorporates lessons learned and after-action reports to assist in making changes to equipment sets based on real world experience.
  • Analyzes logistics requirements and estimates capabilities of organization to accomplish assigned missions.
  • Evaluates logistics programs, establishes responsibilities, and estimates trends, project requirements and capabilities of activities, such as supply, maintenance, transportation, and procurement.
  • Plans, develops, and directs logistics operations to ensure integration of functions of supply, transportation, and maintenance.
  • Identifies ways to increase the ability of the FDPMU to operate independently and provide for increased self-sustainment.
  • Develops scenarios for operational readiness exercises to evaluate effectiveness of logistics support programs.
  • Directs or assists in the direction of activities concerned with the preparation, review, and implementation of logistic plans.
  • Continuously reviews equipment sets to ensure the most current technology is obtained to ensure the best capabilities are available to support the mission.
  • Plans, coordinates, executes and/or supervises the execution of all logistics functions, and the six functional areas of combat service support (CSS): supply, maintenance, transportation, general engineering, health services, and services.
  • Reviews logistics requirements for specific objectives and priorities of command mission


Key Qualifications



  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or data analytics preferred or 6+ years of military logistics experience operating in a DON (preferred) or DOD environment.
  • Experience with logistics across multiple platforms (air, land, and sea).
  • Experience developing Concepts of Operations (CONOPs).
  • Experience working in joint environments and with multiple services, commands, and/or agencies simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with the in-theater requirements and operations of expeditionary units.
  • Experience in planning, operations, and medical intelligence (POMI).
  • Experience coordinating the logistics and partnerships necessary to support military exercises and operations.
