Hi there, we're Article. 👋 We're an online furniture company creating remarkably better furniture experiences one sofa at a time. And as the Project Manager, you'll lead collaborative projects across our Logistics teams.


Why We Need You


In the Logistics Excellence team, our Project Managers (PMs) work closely with stakeholders across the company. Project teams can be up to 10 Particles (People of Article) with impact across hundreds of other Particles across North America.


The length of projects range anywhere from 4-6 weeks up to 4-6 months and as a PM you will be managing projects that deliver anywhere from smaller Continuous Improvement (CI) improvements to million-dollar savings. This is a fast-paced role in which you will be juggling multiple projects simultaneously.

You'll get to learn from diverse and skilled team members consisting of three Project Managers and three Business Analysts who are part of our wider Logistics Excellence team. Although we are based across North America we like to stay connected and constantly learn from each other with weekly group sessions and team activities outside of the day to day work! You will collaborate with a wide breadth of Particles in the US and Canada helping deliver positive change and improvements in our operations.


We're a hybrid team so you can work from your house, our office, a coffee shop, or wherever you're inspired. You'll need to come on-site occasionally to work in-person with our Logistics Operations teams.


While this role is predominantly remote, this person will need to be located within commutable distance of our facilities in these locations:


  • Richmond, Virginia or
  • Calgary, Alberta


What You'll Do


You'll bring your project leadership and customer obsession to help shape and influence a wide range of programs across multiple streams of our Logistics function. This includes transportation, warehousing, and delivery experience with the goal of ultimately delighting our customers.


  • Ability to influence peers to get the results needed to move a project forward
  • Facilitate the creation of process maps, and carry out root cause analysis to identify the true problem and/or opportunity.
  • Work closely with technology product managers to deliver value add changes for our operational teams
  • Lead new projects with the ability to navigate change across all stages of the project lifecycle focussed on our Warehousing, Distribution and Delivery workstreams
  • Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating a wide range of project risks
  • Collaborate closely with Operational Supply Chain teams, Software Engineering, Marketing and Customer Services to deliver successful change initiatives across the company
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of business hierarchy
  • Think critically, question the norm, and have a bias for action
  • Work with Analytical partners to develop compelling insight and reporting for operational metrics to maintain and advance our best-in-class performance for our customers and operational teams
  • Ability to understand user needs and translate business requirements for effective execution and to provide timely results


Who You Are


Qualified candidates will ideally have a breadth of knowledge and experience within Logistics, along with excellent project leadership and execution proficiency. Key areas of experience are:
  • Process mapping and root cause analysis experience (desired)
  • Collaborating in teams with diverse experience and background
  • Must be able to pass:
  • Article participates in E-Verify
  • Experience in applying process improvement methodologies (desired)
  • Ability to analyze multiple sources of data
  • Criminal background check
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, using an agile and traditional project methodology
  • Previous experience of supply chain operations is a nice to have
  • Ability to formulate project strategies and process design for a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and managing change across cross functional teams
  • Advanced user of MS Office and/or Google Suite
  • 2+ years experience of project management in a professional environment
