Job Description
The Sr. Manager, Contract Operations sits in the U.S. Market Access-Market Access Operations-Contract Administration and Operations group. This important role is responsible for ensuring the proper control environment exists across USMA supporting the contracting groups across multiple channels in the healthcare industry (e.g., Commercial, Medicare Part D, Institutional, Specialty and Government customers). This position also leads the Flex Master Data Management (MDM) products and pricing process, is a Center of Excellence for several operational areas, and is involved with special projects as required. Given the size of the team, specific job responsibilities are subject to change with the evolving operational support needs, changes in the business environment, and to support colleague development.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Control Environment and Business Partnering
  • Lead the process and review the control environment for your respective USMA area of focus. Analyze business processes and key controls to ensure the control environment appropriately manages the inherent risk.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Control Matrices (RCMs) for the assigned USMA departments to ensure compliance with Pfizer policies, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) key controls, and other regulatory / government requirements.
  • Conduct an evaluation of current business practices vs. documented procedures and identify process deviations. Provide recommendations for preventive and / or detective controls that balance operational requirements with necessary key controls.
  • Proactively engage business partners to understand changes in the business environment, changes in systems or processes, or changes in government regulations. Provide solutions and influence leaders to implement proposed recommendation while ensuring appropriate controls.

Flex Master Data Management (MDM) - Products and Pricing
  • Coordinate and partner with Digital to ensure MDM defects, enhancements, and reporting requirements are being addressed and resolved. Demonstrate expertise by providing short term work around solutions and potential long-term recommendations.
  • Provide primary support for MDM related activities and secondary support for new product launches. Partner with business areas, process owners, and Digital to implement process changes and system enhancements.
  • Provide operational support for MDM required activities and provide backup and overload support on the day-to-day process for new products.
  • Review and analyze reporting metrics to identify areas for improvement. Influence key stakeholders to adopt changes that improve operational effectiveness.
Center of Excellence (CoE) Areas of Focus
  • Primary point person responsible for the overall vision and leading the process of one or more of the following areas: 1. USMA commitments to Government Pricing and Managed Markets Finance, 2. Audits: Corporate Audit, KPMG, and External Customers, 3. Legal Requests, 4. Contract Lifecycle Management System, and 5. USMA compliance with Pfizer policies.
  • Monitor KPIs and operating effectiveness. Develop KPIs as appropriate.
  • Responsible for providing the overall strategic vision and managing the overall process on one (or more) Center of Excellence operational areas of focus. Provide subject matter expertise, develop strategies to maximize efficiencies, and ensure compliance with necessary policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Develop and implement recommendations for process and reporting improvements.
  • Develop and maintain control documentation to ensure CoE area is in compliance with necessary policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and operational leadership to ensure the processes are meeting the requirements of key stakeholders and meeting necessary deadlines.

Special Projects / One Time Projects
  • Ability to handle special requests and unplanned project work as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possess strong organization and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on time management, follow-through, and ability to resolve issues.
  • Skilled at recognizing and interpreting business issues/opportunities and recommending solutions.
  • 7+or more years of overall experience
  • Capability to understand computer systems / applications with the aptitude to follow transactions from upstream inputs through downstream reporting capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree minimum required
  • Aptitude to make judgments concerning policy, controls, and objectives upon reviewing a business area or process area.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining cross functional relationships and influencing outcomes.
  • Ability and comfort to work under constant deadlines and to appropriately prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Technical competences required include proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel) and reporting tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with ModelN applications (Flex) and/or Business Objects.
  • Master’s Degree preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry specifically managed care, contracting, or project management related role.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Position is considered Flexible and colleagues are expected to comply with Log in for Your Day (LIFYD) requirements at site location (e.g. about 2 to 3 days a week in office)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $106,300.00 to $177,100.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Pfizer compensation structures and benefit packages are aligned locally, the US Salary range provided does not apply to the Tampa, FL or any EXUS locations.
