Senior Internal Communications Manager

We are working with our technology client to recruit a Senior Internal Communications Manager to join their team on a permanent basis in the Houston, TX area. This role is both tactical and strategic, blending the worlds of content writing, optimization and strategy for their employee base, with additional focuses on program management and cohesive communication from the company's leadership team. You will be a dedicated resource for all communications from HR and operations leaders, working in lockstep to hone their voice, align thought leadership content with overall company strategy, and support any internal crisis communications needs. You will own weekly internal communications efforts, the company's intranet and additional similar programs. To be a fit, you should bring 5+ years of experience in internal communications management, with work experience in the above disciplines and the ability to develop trusting relationships with senior leadership. This is an individual contributor role that will be hands on in writing, editing and program management, and there is a path for this person and department to grow in the future.

This is a hybrid role set to be onsite 2-3 days a week in the Houston area. As a permanent hire on this team, you will be eligible for a comprehensive and highly competitive benefits package. Salary ranges between $140,000 and $150,000 annually, depending on relevant experience with potential for slight flexibility. This organization has a clear focus on both employee and customer experience, and the tools in place to continue building a robust internal communications function.

You will:

• Partner closely with C-level leaders on thought leadership pieces, speaking engagements, presentations, talking points and similar, along with opportunities to elevate executive and company reputation
• Own current internal communications programs and develop new strategy to better leverage these tools, including the company's intranet, weekly employee updates and other similar communications; Brainstorm additional methods of communicating with company staff
• Work with external consultants and vendors, as needed
• Serve as the voice of leadership, HR and operations to the employee population, writing, editing and disseminating all employee communications
• Ensure consistency between internal communications efforts, executive communications and external/marketing communications, partnering with relevant cross-functional teams to maintain awareness and understanding of company voice

Your experience should include:

• Outstanding writing and editing skills and a passion for hands-on writing, editing and proofreading - this role is deeply involved in the content production process
• 6+ years of manager-level internal communications experience with additional communications background
• Comprehensive understanding of internal communications methodology and strategy, with experience crafting strategic, inclusive content for newsletters, presentations, company meetings, intranet, talking points and similar
• Experience with crisis communications
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
