Internal Communications Manager Jobs

We are seeking an Internal Communications Manager on a contract basis to be a technical communicator with extensive experience working in the developer community to support an internal communications engineer engagement effort. This role is part research, part technical writing, and part content and event execution support. The role is 100% remote to these locations: Baltimore, MD, Boston, MA, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Menlo Park, CA.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as liaison between a team of engineers and campaign communications leads to ensure programming resonates and inspires
• Work with cross-functional engineering and communications partners to inspire our engineers about the company’s long-term strategy and vision and celebrate their contributions towards achieving it
• Support in designing and executing bespoke campaign content and events across internal channels
• Build relationships with engineers across the company to gain insight into what they care about most to inform the campaign’s strategic direction

Must-Haves

• Experience communicating to an employee population of technologists and engineers preferred
• Ability to quickly build relationships with engineers
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed organization
• Experience with the content generation or event programming support
• Technical writing experience and the ability to understand complex, engineering concepts and translate them to content and production teams
• Experience designing and implementing metrics-driven communications campaigns or programs preferred
• Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously and working autonomously
• 8+ years of experience in technical writing/journalism, communications or working closely with engineers in a tech startup, Venture Capitalist (VC) or entrepreneurial role
• Passionate about the future of social technology
• Experience with events, logistics and various types of creative content development preferred
• Self-starter that thrives in a collaborative environment where you must partner cross-functionally and across regions

Education

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training required

Hours & Location:

• M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be 100% remote.
