Job Description

Summary: As a Senior Fraud Analyst, you will leverage your experience with fraud prevention, customer engagement, and operations processes to review a variety of transactions and event types for likelihood of fraud and work to mitigate losses to the Bank. This position will also support fraud prevention process improvements and operations communications for the organization. This position has the potential opportunity to evolve into a management role, leading a team of 2-4 fraud analysts, based on the bank’s need over the next 18+ months.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Resolve transactions within the service level agreements to reduce potential losses.
  • Partner with and effectively collaborate with compliance and operations teams to design, implement and enhance our ability to manage fraud risk.
  • Responds to requests from Law Enforcement, acts as a liaison, preparing case referrals and follow up investigations.
  • Maintain and strengthen fraud policies to enhance customer experience, improve security standards while managing fraud losses and addressing existing and emerging fraud trends.
  • Create and enhance internal and external reporting processes.
  • Assist customers who have been identified as victims of fraud in a knowledgeable, empathetic manner, with an eye towards expedited resolution of their fraud claim.
  • Able to analyze, evaluate, and interpret information gathered from numerous databases and third-party sources and identify "red flags" that prompt further inquiry;
  • Knowledge in banking regulations with a fraud nexus (e.g. Regulations E and CC; Bank Secrecy Act, Identity Theft Red Flag Rule) and other regulatory compliance rules.
  • Review, analyze, and decision high risk new account transactions, potentially fraudulent activity, and referrals related to suspicious activity.
  • Design criteria to identify and measure different types of customer misrepresentation and fraud.
  • Prepares drafts and regulatory reports for potential submission to FinCen.
  • Leverage various fraud detection tools, models, and third-party communications in investigation and review of potentially fraudulent activity.
  • Support buildout of fraud processes, operational communications, and job aids during digital Bank launch and expansion of the fraud process and framework.


Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience with fraud and/or SME risk management required
  • Verafin experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a field such as business, finance, or risk management
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Jack Henry experience preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter who thrives on autonomy
