Job Description

The Strategy & Planning team is passionate about strategy formulation and prioritization, strategic and operational planning, program management, and vendor management efforts while building next-gen Total Cost of Ownership capabilities.

The Senior Director, Program Management Office (PMO) is the leader of the PMO and the role reports to the Vice President, Global Technology Strategy & Planning.

  • To drive delivery excellence, the Senior Director will develop and implement a comprehensive model that ensures strict adherence to standards, processes, and tool usage. This will involve implementing a formal adoption measurement system, conducting regular delivery health checks, and establishing informal coaching support systems. These initiatives will nurture continuous improvement and maintain the highest level of project execution.
  • The Senior Director plays a vital role in enabling execution of business transformation, process improvement, and technology initiatives across Global Tech by establishing robust project management standards, processes, and tools. The primary objective is to create and implement a capability maturity roadmap that aligns with Product Management/Agile expansion, ultimately building a successful Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) capable of implementing enterprise-wide programs and transformation initiatives.
  • The Senior Director will oversee three key practices: Program/Project Management, Organizational Change, and Agile Delivery. This involves leading both in-house resources and trusted third-party staff augmentation to ensure expertise in these areas. Additionally, the Senior Director will establish project staffing standards and define role qualifications for Program Managers, Project Managers, Change Managers, and Scrum Masters. Onboarding standard processes will be developed to support various work types and complexities.
  • The Senior Director will be responsible for improving project management efficiency across Global Tech by offering a range of mentor and skill-building services. This includes providing formal training and certification programs, facilitating communities of practice, and offering online, self-paced, and one-on-one mentor opportunities. By promoting a culture of continuous learning and development, the Senior Director will empower individuals and teams to excel in their project management roles.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Tracks, monitors, and leads resource and capacity management conflicts and demands.
  • Stand-up the Agile COE including sourcing Scrum Master and Agile Coaches
  • Further mature the Change Management capability to provide both project support and change management skill building
  • Processes, PPM tools and reporting metrics (KPIs).
  • Develop and deliver a 3-year roadmap to mature the PMO capabilities to that of an enterprise PMO in support of GT’s product-oriented operating model
  • Responsible for the adoption of program/project management methodology and provide suitable interpretation to all collaborators within the organization.
  • Develop and drive program/project management best practices and standards that will improve project execution quality, timeliness, and value.
  • Develops a set of executive and team related dashboards to communicate up and down the organization the status of the work
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in large, technology program management
  • Program, Project, and Portfolio leadership experience
  • 10+ years of experience with portfolio management
  • Expert user MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
  • 10+ years with project delivery methodologies and tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or related field
  • Experience inspiring change management initiatives across an organization
  • People management experience (direct reports)
  • Experience leading global technology initiatives
  • Willingness and ability to live the McDonald’s values every day: Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community, and Family.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading business transformations with people, process, and technology changes.
  • Experience with Clarizen or similar enterprise PPM tools
  • Change Management certification (e.g., Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), Change Management Institute, etc.)
  • One or more of the following Project/Program Management certifications (e.g., ACP, AgilePM, PgMP, PMP, PPM, PRINCE2, etc.)
  • Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or related field
  • Six Sigma, Lean or Operational Excellence certification
