Job Description

The Strategy & Planning team is focused on strategy formulation and prioritization, strategic and operational planning, program management, and vendor management efforts while building next-gen Total Cost of Ownership capabilities.

The Senior Manager of Vendor Management Office Center of Expertise (CoE) will report the Senior Director of the Vendor Management Office (VMO).

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to fulfill the following core activities

  • As a senior expert in vendor management, you will play a critical role in leading and overseeing the governance processes and technology standards for McDonald’s Global Technology VMO (VMO).
  • Your expertise in vendor management, governance frameworks, and technology standards will drive the success of our vendor relationships and contribute to the overall operational excellence of our organization.
  • You will ensure that vendor management practices adhere to established policies, industry regulations, and best practices, while also leveraging technology to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine vendor management processes, ensuring they align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor compliance with governance policies, technology standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Lead a team of vendor management professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal departments and external vendors, to ensure alignment and adherence to governance and technology standards.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of vendor management technologies, ensuring they are effectively integrated with existing systems and workflows.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining third party platforms integral for VMO demand management, pipeline, API integrations resulting in significant value creation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to vendor management, and proactively recommend improvements and enhancements to current practices.
  • Develop and manage the VMO CoE budget, tracking expenses and optimizing vendor costs to achieve cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics (e.g., CSATs, DEI spend, vendor financial health, risk management, etc.) for measuring the effectiveness of the vendor management function.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting accurately necessary to be able to report daily, retrospective, or forecasted metrics across Global Technology.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics (e.g., CSATs, DEI spend, vendor financial health, risk management, etc.) implementing corrective actions and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement governance frameworks, policies, and document templates to guide the vendor management team's ability to operate globally.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technology tools and systems to support vendor management operations, ensuring they meet the organization's security and compliance standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate third-party access and maintain subscriptions.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT related Supplier Management working with large scale suppliers & negotiating supplier / hardware contracts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team of professionals.
  • Willingness and ability to live the McDonald’s values every day: Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community, and Family.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology tools and systems used in vendor management, such as vendor management systems (VMS), contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, and risk management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to vendor management.
  • Proven experience in vendor management, governance, or related fields, with a focus on technology standards and compliance.
  • Experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications in vendor management, governance, or related areas (e.g., Certified Vendor Manager (CVM), Certified Third-Party Risk Professional (CTPRP)) are highly desirable.
