Job Description

Senior Director, Process Engineering & Operations


A large, global Fortune 500 and Top 10 Pharma company is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Director of Process Engineering and Operations to lead and manage both internal and external efforts for new cell & gene therapy modalities. In this critical role, you will be responsible for driving scientific excellence and leading a cross-functional team of talented scientists in a new laboratory build out.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Process Development, Manufacturing, and MSAT, to ensure effective integration and alignment of efforts
  • Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
  • Lead a build out for an AAV-modality specific laboratory space and recruit strong talent for the AAV portfolio
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and teamwork within the group
  • Represent the Process Engineering & Operations group in internal and external meetings, and serve as a key liaison with regulatory agencies, CROs/CMOs and other stakeholders


Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines with a minimum of 12 years of experience in process engineering and manufacturing
  • Experience with new modalities in the cell and gene therapies space such as oligodeoxynucleotides, siRNA, and CAR-T
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions
  • Strong leadership skills and experience leading and managing high-performing cross-functional teams
