Senior Director Communications Jobs

We are looking for a Senior Director of Communications to provide day-to-day leadership of internal and external communications for a real estate company.

An ideal candidate will be excited by the opportunity to lead a team, be comfortable working in ambiguity, and eager to shape something that is critical to scaling our client's business. You are solutions-focused with an ability to work in a highly matrixed organization that delivers effective communications quickly. You should be eager to work both strategically and tactically.

What you will do:

● Reporting to the VP of Communications, you will lead a team of four junior comms professionals, supporting them with their goals, growth, and execution.

● From day one, jump in and help execute a range of immediate communications needs, including things like writing leadership/teammate communications or checking social media posts.

● Partner closely with the senior leaders, building strong relationships and translating business priorities into meaningful communications output that drives clarity and alignment around our strategy, culture, and performance.

● Be a brand leader, helping oversee adherence of brand guidelines and ensuring consistency and quality in execution.

● Lead the development and execution of a broad range of internal and external communications that create a cohesive brand experience, including programming our all-company town halls and newsletter and driving our social media strategy.

● Develop and refine workflows to streamline the teams’ execution and maximize opportunities to leverage high-quality content across multiple channels/activations.

● Understand communication priorities for internal stakeholders to develop and execute thoughtful communications plans/campaigns, setting measurable goals and driving execution.

● Help manage reputational risk, looking for how things could be perceived as representative of a bigger brand/brand ecosystem.

What you should have:

● Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.

● 10+ years of experience in a fast-paced, corporate environment.

● Robust in-house corporate communications experience including employee and executive communications; it would be ideal if you have helped build or scale a comms team.

● Team leadership skills, including a proven track record developing talent and managing performance.

● Experience in any of the following is highly preferred: private equity, financial services, commercial real estate.

● Both a proven strategic mindset and care for the details, able to zoom out and see the bigger picture and zoom in to ensure quality and accuracy.

● Sharp creative and analytical skills, as talented a storyteller as you are a process-oriented executor.

● Exceptional executive presence, including experience supporting senior business leaders with communications.
