Job Description

Family Allergy & Asthma is looking for a strategic and collaborative Senior Director of Human Resources and Compensation to join our team. You will lead, direct, develop and coordinate the policies, activities and staff of the Human Resources department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy.


Location: On-site at 9800 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40223

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Travel: Up to 30%, including out-of-state and overnight stays


Senior Director of HR and Compensation Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Participates in regular assessments of the organization's strengths and risks, regulatory and industry trends, and labor market dynamics as they relate to the operational, financial and clinical drivers of the organization
  • Participates in the system testing, administration, and tracking of applications for ongoing compensation administration and the annual compensation review process
  • Directs and manages HR Department Staff
  • Collaborates with senior levels in the organization to define and execute change initiatives that advance the mission, promote values integration, increase organization effectiveness, and improve results
  • Partners effectively with Finance to reach a consensus on merit budget as well as forecasting / costing for Long Term Incentive Program
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative, credible, trusting partnerships with individuals across a broad range of people and groups, both internal and external
  • Creates and implements an integrated human resources and operating plan that aligns people strategies with current and emerging business strategies to positively impact operational performance
  • Coaches and develops leaders and managers
  • Interprets market data to develop proposals for annual merit budget to the Director of Compensation


Senior Director of HR and Compensation Qualifications:


  • Ability to lead an HR Department for a company with 800+ employees: multi-site, multi-state
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership in roles with a focus on team leading, strategic planning and implementation, payroll processing, multi-state and locality payroll tax, compliance and human resources experience required
  • Healthcare and Mergers/Acquisition experience preferred
  • Ability to think strategically, uphold company core values and policies, and work collaboratively with other department leaders to reach common goals
  • Experience in job evaluation and market pricing techniques preferred
  • Understanding of best practice compensation programs and processes preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
