Senior Business Development Representative (NYC)


The Company

Lantern is building the 21st century customer success (CS) platform. By providing real-time insights and predictive analytics, and thereby enabling CS teams to engage customers in their moments of highest intent, Lantern is able to proactively mitigate churn risks and customer issues, identify expansion opportunities, and help drive overall business growth. Lantern is uniquely positioned to provide these insights and predictions through its proprietary data ingestion tools. The CS function has exploded over the past decade, growing from 500 customer success reps globally in 2013 to over 250K today. We have just raised our seed round from leading firms including Primary Venture Partners, 8VC and Moxxie Ventures and are excited about bringing on our early team members.


The role

Lantern is looking for an organized, resourceful, and driven business development representative to help develop our market and accelerate our revenue growth. As an early member of our sales team, you will be responsible for generating a sales pipeline for our account executives by initiating conversations with customer success leaders across enterprise organizations.


This is a mission-critical role that will have a direct impact on the growth trajectory of our business, and will help set the stage for further investment in our business development function. You will be a founding member of our business development team, giving you the opportunity to help shape our account development strategy as we grow. This role will report directly to our Head of Operations, and will interface with our CEO, David Bromberg along with all members of the Lantern team. This role is perfect for someone who aspires to be an Account Executive role in the near future.


  • Prospect via phone, email, and social strategies
  • Understand clients pain points to sell with value
  • Test new strategies, audiences, and channels to generate enterprise opportunities
  • Drive sales growth and create a pipeline for our AE team.


Qualifications

  • Experience in Enterprise SaaS preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 1+ year experience in a business development, sales or customer facing role.
  • Can be onsite three days a week with our NYC team.
  • Customer obsessed attitude and desire to go the extra mile
  • Self starter, goal oriented, and customer centric.
