Your future duties and responsibilities

  • Analyze and map data from various sources to ensure accurate integration and transformation within the Azure-based data management environment.
  • Focus primarily on requirements gathering and documentation for data models, reports and data integration.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to provide business analysis insights and feedback.
  • Create detailed user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria to articulate business needs and expectations in an Agile development environment.
  • Work closely with architects and technical leads to validate solution designs against business requirements and identify potential gaps or improvements.
  • Collaborate with business users, government stakeholders, and technical teams to elicit and document comprehensive business requirements for the data management environment.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

  • Familiarity with Power BI and data visualization concepts, with the ability to understand and communicate business requirements for reporting and dash boarding.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably with a focus on data management, data warehousing, or business intelligence projects.
  • Proficiency in data analysis techniques, data mapping, and data modeling concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a solid understanding of Agile principles and ceremonies.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure services, particularly Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Snowflake data platform.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address business challenges and requirements.

  • Basic SQL skills for data querying and validation.
  • Prior experience working on projects for government clients and familiarity with government data security and compliance standards.
  • Understanding of data governance principles and practices, and their application in data management projects.
  • Relevant certifications in business analysis, Azure, Snowflake, or Power BI.
  • Ensure data governance and compliance requirements for government data are incorporated into the data management environment.
  • Prepare detailed project documentation, including business requirements documents, process flows, and functional specifications.
  • Facilitate change management activities to ensure smooth adoption of the data management environment within the government organization.
  • Collaborate with the testing team to verify that the implemented solution aligns with business requirements and validate that acceptance criteria are met.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear updates on project progress and addressing any queries or concerns.
