Job Description

Job Overview
Designs or modifies data models to solve complex database requirements considering business and application needs. Organizes metadata for use by teams.

Essential Functions
  • Facilitates formal and informal discussions to support database designs.
  • Participates in the implementation and management of the global metadata repository.
  • Identifies metadata sources, develops metadata management capabilities, monitors metadata quality, and develops common data definitions.
  • Assists with the implementation of metadata management tools.
  • Participates in enterprise-wide logical data modeling and leads efforts on assigned data subject areas.
  • Coordinates testing and documentation of the global metadata repository and conducts user interviews to gather metadata requirements to insure business requirements are met.
  • Assists with creating and maintaining enterprise-wide data standards.
  • Ensures that databases meet required operational standards and performance levels (as measured by reliability, response
  • Acts as senior consultant for lower staff providing technical advice and consultation on database administration, database analysis and database design reviews.
  • Plans, conducts and coordinates the design of state-of-the-art data model designs and metadata management.
  • Provides application-level data modeling for project development teams.

Qualifications
  • 3 years in database administration area Req
  • Knowledge of IQVIA products, systems, database
  • 5 years of information technology experience Req
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related discipline, or knowledge acquired through equivalent experience Req

  • Strong PC applications (Access, Lotus Notes, Excel,
Word, PowerPoint) skills and a familiarity with Internet
applications.
  • Familiar with third party software platforms
