Job Description
Revlon is looking for a proven analytics leader to join the ULTA team to help drive volume, share objectives and maximize ROI across all promotional levers at this Specialty Beauty retailer. This role will leverage his/her strategic thinking capabilities and insights to identify short and long-term growth opportunities and create solutions based on a comprehensive understanding of the business, across competitors, in relationship to the shopper and in sync with Revlon strategies.
This role is responsible for developing a fact-based approach of business analytics including evaluation of promotional effectiveness, marketing plans, brand/category trends and retailer POS. The incumbent will be leveraging data from various sources such as Neilsen and CVS ExtraCare, and translating the data into key insights and recommendations for the customer. Additionally, this role will work in conjunction with the eComm Business Development Manager to develop and track monthly forecasts and shipments
Major Duties
  • Play a key support role in building the annual business plan based upon analytical review of historical and competitive data and strategic direction for the category, brand and shopper.
  • Responsible for developing and presenting fact based business analytics for assigned categories including promotion evaluation for effectiveness and efficiency, applicable customer-specific data analysis, brand/category trends, marketing plans, objectives, and space recommendations
  • Analyze current and historical customer data and formulate customer presentation material and ensure accurate customer scorecards to support the ULTA team.
  • Provide periodic and ad hoc customer analysis reporting in a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunity gaps to drive incremental volume based on customer-specific data analysis and brand/category trends, marketing plans, and sales objectives
  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and continuously question data, asking deep dive questions and pursuing answers that may not be readily apparent.
  • Function as the data expert to support the internal team in all selling processes, event consumption and forecasting
  • Responsible for developing and owning an accurate sales consumption forecast at the unit and dollar level for respective lines of business, including monitoring performance, evaluating impact and recommending shifts or enhancements to investment based on sales trends
Knowledge & Skills
  • Ability to develop selling story/recommendations as output of analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be flexible in a fast paced, dynamic team environment. High energy and motivation needed
  • Must be creative and detail-oriented in ambiguous situations, with a focus on execution
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel / Pivot Tables , PowerPoint, and Word. Knowledge of Access and Power BI preferred
  • Bachelors Degree required - preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting
  • Minimum 5+ years business analytics experience supporting CPG Sales or Retailer Buyer team(s)
  • Minimum of 5+ years of business analysis experience supporting sales team. Demonstrated strong understanding of retail and customer team perspectives
  • Knowledge of technologically driven financial analysis (ie. ROI, Pricing/Margin implications)
  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate organization skills and agility to determine, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities
  • Must have strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to create recommendations through ad hoc analysis utilizing analytical skills
  • Experience working with ULTA or Beauty Specialty is strongly preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret data and link category management data to retailer/business scenarios

  • The base pay range for this position in New York City is $70,000 and $110,000/year; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short and/or long-term incentives as part of total compensation.
