Our client, a leader in luxury retail, is hiring a Category Manager to work on a HYBRID schedule in their NYC office. This is a 5 month CONTRACT position,
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Category Manager drives the growth of the lenses category. The Manager leads cross-functional lens initiatives and conducts related reporting and analysis. Supports and leads daily run the business responsibilities for the lens category while also taking on special projects to improve lenses offering to customers and grow the $1B business. This includes supporting and coordinating marketing, operations, planning, manufacturing, and the field to deliver on plans for the category.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leads lens planning and scenario analysis to grow the category, collaborating with Finance and RxO.
• Supports the development of pricing strategy and leads the execution of the promotional strategy across various marketing channels, owning the LensCrafters annual offer calendar.
• Leads and manages project work in assortment optimization initiatives, e.g., coordinates timelines and deliverables with other functions.
• Manages day-to day category to optimize and deliver growth across mix, units, AUR.
• Maintains pricing and promo packages by working with the systems team, executes pricing and product changes.
• Serves as the lens category expert on current business issues and challenges.
• Coordinates with other functions to resolve critical product, and product related systems issues.
• Collaborates with Customer Experience, Operations, Consumer Insights, Product Innovation, and Marketing on category growth, performance and in store experience.
• Leads analysis and implementation of feedback loop regarding consumer feedback for product and pricing.
• Coordinates with Operations, Manufacturing and IT to resolve critical product/systems issues.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or business related field
• 8+ years of brand/product management, retail operations, consumer marketing, or project management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA
• Project Management experience
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, internally and externally
• Ability to multi-task and support multiple work streams simultaneously
• Strong problem solving skills
• Detail oriented; self-motivated
• Financial and analytical acumen. Ability to analyze data, and prepare basic business case scenarios
