This position is a key member of the Category Management team; responsible for developing, implementing and leading global spend management strategy across the Western Union enterprise. The individual in this role will be required to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances with senior business leaders and key stakeholders, to identify overall procurement savings and create global spend synergies, efficiencies and sustainable third party expense reduction. Responsible for leading the procurement enterprise strategy into the BU for execution.
Role Responsibilities
  • Engage the business to understand business drivers, risk appetite and environmental factors that influence the development and maintenance of the sourcing strategy.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends that have an impact on the sourcing strategy, through good working relationships with existing and potential third-parties.
  • Identify and evaluate the best options for supply, which may include acquisition of products, outsourcing or insourcing, or other alternatives such as joint ventures, brokering vendor partnerships or potential acquisitions.
  • Lead key large scale and complex negotiations to develop cost savings and optimal contract terms.
  • Review, manage and approve a comprehensive list of best-in-class suppliers for bid processes developed by analyzing industry trends and competitive positioning to ensure engagement and leverage of the most effective supply base.
  • Develop, through a collaborative and inclusive approach, a global category sourcing strategy that delivers against corporate strategy priorities, and translates business imperatives into effective procurement plans.
Role Requirements
  • Strong IT sourcing experience – emphasis on SaaS
  • 5+ years experience
  • A bachelor's degree in business or other management discipline and/or certification by purchasing and supply chain professional bodies, such as the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is preferred.
  • Payment processing contracts experience (Visa, PayPal, Fiserv, etc…)

Salary
The on-target earnings range is $145,800- 180,000 USD per year, which includes a base salary and short-term and long-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
