Senior Accounts Payable Technician

• Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers and respond to common inquires or requests
• Process subcontractor vendor invoices while reviewing for compliance to company policies
• Managing Accounting corporate credit card transactions and ensuring transactions are recorded timely
• Ensure vendor information is obtained for proper set up in the accounting software
• Communicate with sub consultants to ensure all required information is received in a timely manner
• Assist with spend management in Canada and the United States including handling incoming invoices and vendor relations, inputting invoices, coding each correctly and following up with the approval chain
• Provide excellent customer service and business support to internal and external customers
• Process Office Admin expense reports while reviewing for compliance to company policies
• Reconcile the Accounting corporate credit card for transactions processed and charged
• Work with Project Managers and client invoicing team to ensure invoices are properly coded
• Special projects and other duties as assigned
• Ability to read and interpret subcontractor documents
• Manage Canadian related items – invoices, employee and vendor bank payments, and invoice tax recording
• Review Master Subcontract Agreements (MSA’s) and tracking of subcontractor sub budget and related documents

• Experience with major ERP systems, BST Global preferred
• Demonstrate “Service Excellence” in all interactions with employees and vendors
• Knowledge of subcontract agreements and task orders
• Strong MS Word and Excel (intermediate to advanced) skills
• Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, and time management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and external vendors and customers
• Understanding of Canadian invoice transactions and GST/PST tax recording
• Ability to work under general supervision and embrace department/company procedures
• Ability to exercise sound business judgement in dealing with confidential information
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy of data input
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic and high level of integrity

• 7+ years’ general Accounts Payable experience
• 3+ years’ experience working with subconsultant invoice processing in a professional services firm, preferably in an Architectural/Engineering or Construction company
• 3 – 5 years’ experience working with Canadian vendors
• High School Diploma, Associates Degree or higher in accounting or related field preferred
