Job Description

In the role of Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will be vital in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, and supporting the month-end close process. Your keen attention to detail, extensive accounting knowledge, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams will greatly contribute to the overall success of our finance department.


Your specific responsibilities will include:


1. Recording cash and bank activities on a daily basis, preparing billing, and completing ad hoc projects as assigned.

2. Maintaining and reconciling fixed asset schedules.

3. Preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations to meet month-end close deadlines.

4. Identifying and rectifying errors or inconsistencies in financial statements.

5. Conducting monthly analyses of the balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position/budget variances for management review.

6. Collaborating with the operations team to identify and eliminate workflow inefficiencies and implementing financial controls to streamline the month-end close process.

7. Working with the finance management team and third-party consultants to address system process issues and enhance system efficiency.

8. Handling local, state, and government license reporting and filing, if applicable.

9. Continuously evaluating internal controls, conducting risk assessments, and reviewing areas of potential risk.

10. Assisting with annual or governmental audits as required.

11. Ensuring that financial statements adhere to US GAAP standards.


To qualify for this role, you should have:


1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

2. Preferably, CPA certification.

3. Five or more years of relevant experience in general accounting, with a mix of public accounting and private industry experience being desirable.

4. Strong knowledge of US GAAP standards and experience in preparing financial statements.

5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

6. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

7. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

8. Excellent organizational and time management skills.

9. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • 10. Experience with local, state, and government reporting and audits would be an added advantage.
