Location: Miami, Florida (onsite)

Our client, a renowned Financial Services Institution located is looking to expand its team by bringing on a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant for their Accounting department out of Miami, Florida

Role Overview:

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the financial health of the organization by maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through the preparation of the company's reports and statements. The successful candidate will be a problem solver with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate a smooth audit process, both internal and external, by preparing necessary data and documentation.
• Develop and maintain General Ledger (GL) and subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions.
• Assure financial integrity and transparency through strict compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies.
• Provide support for additional accounting projects as required.
• Maintain and enhance the financial health of the institution by recording, verifying, and consolidating financial transactions.
• Regularly review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance.
• Contribute to the development of new procedures and processes to improve financial efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist with the financial close process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Supervise and guide accounting team members, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
• Play a leading role in budgeting and forecasting activities.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of financial data analysis and forecasting.
• Excellent knowledge of GAAP and a strong understanding of financial and accounting procedures.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly advanced in Excel.
• CPA certification preferred (not-required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• High level of discretion to handle confidential information.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressive and relevant experience in accounting/finance
• Ability to meet deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Accounting software is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organizational abilities.
