Security Supervisor Jobs

Pay Range: $23.03/hr. - $28.78/hr.

Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday 6am - 3pm; Some evening and on-call rotation /weekend work required. The Security and Emergency Management Section is a 24/7 operation.

A Security Supervisor job is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department Management Service Division. The City of Fort Worth Water Utility is a fast paced and rewarding department that is responsible for providing safe and reliable water to the citizens of Fort Worth. The position ensures work quality and adherence to established security policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED supplemented by specialized training in security, law enforcement or a related field
• Must be able to pass Drug Screen
• One (1) year of complex administrative lead/supervisory experience
• Four (4) years of security or law enforcement experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with card access control and video management system (VMS)
• Additional years of supervisory experience working from multiple locations
• Previous utility security experience
• Experience with coordinating schedules for 24/7 operations

The Security Supervisor Job Responsibilities Include

• Ensuring staff is trained and maintain policies and procedures
• Performs the more technical and complex tasks of the work unit, including developing and initiating emergency response plans.
• Maintaining a healthy and safe working environment
• Monitors various contracts with security companies and general contractors
• Coordinates with other divisions, departments, outside agencies and citizens regarding security and safety 24 hours a day
• Experience using Maximo or other similar inventory/work order management system
• Respond to intrusion alarms at offsite facilities and maintain security measures
• Oversees, coordinates, and supervises security guards at various plant locations prioritizing and assigning work

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions.

Physical Demand

Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
