SAFETY COORDINATOR- ASHLAND SAWMILL AND MAINE WOODLANDS

We are currently seeking a motivated Safety Coordinator to join our team!

Qualifications:

• Familiarity and experience with Workers Compensation processes and systems
• Experience working with illness and injuries both work and non-work related
• Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• Experience and knowledge with computer and safety management tools

Key Responsibilities:

• You will conduct and coordinate formal hazard assessments and site audits on a regular basis
• You will conduct inspections and verify safe work conditions including permitting
• You will conduct safety orientations with employees and sub-contractors as necessary
• Review site action plans and coordinate, assist and/or execute resolutions
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations
• Provide ongoing support to employees and front-line management in the effective execution of HSE programs and initiatives
• Recognition and communication of at-risk behaviors
• Analyzing health and safety data
• Structuring and facilitating the training programs for existing workers as they become due, ensuring we meet regulatory requirements
• Conduct accident investigations
• Facilitate employee treatment as needed and ensure investigations are conducted
• You will be a key adviser for all safety related items within the businesses
• Maintain positive, professional relationships with site/project management and ensure changes in operations, policies, and procedures are communicated, assessed, and controlled with management and employees
