Current Need


The Sales Administration team at McKesson Medical-Surgical is looking for a RFP Proposal Specialist to join the team in Richmond, VA or Jacksonville, FL.

The purpose of the job is to effectively manage the proposal process and provide a comprehensive, effective response, along with a professional presentation package to facilitate the successful signing of requests for proposals (RFPs) and purchase/service agreements for all markets. This individual must assess the customer needs and the competitive climate to make recommendations about proposal and presentation content. In addition, this analyst must educate the sales force to include directors, vice presidents, and customers on McKesson Medical-Surgical’ s capabilities. Other project management duties may be assigned and maintaining standard language and updating exhibits is a critical part of this position. In addition, this individual will respond to external set up forms appropriately depending upon the customer’s request.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage proposals and set up customer forms to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Analyze current contract information for inclusion in the service offering.
  • Set expectations of key stakeholders (VPs, Sales Directors, etc.) regarding content, responsibilities and deadlines and hold these individuals accountable.
  • Develop requests for proposal (RFP) responses, proposal information and presentation materials.
  • Interview company experts and write responses accordingly
  • Work through agreements with directors and vice presidents, confirming subject matter expert information.
  • Develop modes of proposal and presentation that are state of the art and demonstrate McKesson Medical-Surgical’ s unique ability to meet customer needs.
  • Be completely knowledgeable about company offerings and capabilities and provide direction to lead managers about which of these to include in proposals.
  • Manage approval process and, if necessary, mediate or resolve conflict between management (e.g., law department versus sales).
  • Develop, edit and maintain standard language and supplemental documents/exhibits to include understanding of McKesson Medical-Surgical’s value proposition and any competitive intelligence information.
  • Develop strategy and vision of proposal and write responses accordingly.


Minimum Requirements


2+ year’s relative experience


Critical Skills


  • 1+ years' experience with sales administration.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).
  • 1+ years' experience editing large documents for consistency and accuracy.
  • 1+ years' experience with proposal development.


Additional Knowledge & Skills


  • Ability to make decisions with a pre-determined scope.
  • Ability to cope with high stress and multiple, concurrent assignments with strict deadlines.
  • Utilization of analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Desktop publishing experience (knowledge of page layout and format).
  • Experience supporting sales/marketing.
  • High level of focus/concentration for various methods of communication.
  • Analyzing business problems for solutions.
  • Written and verbal business communications with middle and upper management.
  • Ability to interface at highest levels of organization and customer.


Education


4-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.

Our Base Pay Range for this position


$52,100 - $86,800
