We are looking for a passionate leader with an engineering background, with excellent ability for executive level storytelling through data analytics and insights and deep understanding of the business intelligence to pursue opportunities to grow revenue. As Retail Store Analytics Director, you will play a critical role in leading the future direction of our Retail Stores through reimagining how we apply data, machine learning and insights to understand our business, drive performance and enhance the customer experience. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of retail operations, and the ability to effectively communicate complex data-driven findings.
Through a team of Data Engineers and Analysts, you will lead innovation across all Apple Retail and be a trusted partner to the Apple Executives Team. Your team will design, refine, and create innovative analyses and data products and leverage large, complex data sources and market research, derive actionable insights and deliver dynamic and intuitive decision tools.
You will coach, lead and empower team members to do their best work.

Key Qualifications

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets, and drive business strategy and decision making through partnership across the organization.
Deep knowledge of Machine Learning, statistical analysis, forecasting methods, and data modeling techniques, and their application to the Retail industry.
Passion for data visualization and information design, and experience with tools such as Tableau.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex analysis and data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including extensive experience presenting to leadership groups and executives
Thrives in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment operating at both strategic and tactical levels with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
Proven leadership in establishing and implementing a vision, goals and strategic and tactical execution plans
Proven people manager who builds capabilities of individuals and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication and coaching
Demonstrate collaboration and inclusion through hiring and promoting inclusive and diverse talent, encouraging all voices to be heard and valuing those voices, and serving as an example of leading a culture of belonging for others across Apple.

Description

Role Purpose
Develop and implement a future-forward retail analytics strategy to support deep business insights and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Identify key performance indicators and establish benchmarks to measure store performance, customer behavior, and sales trends.
Build and maintain predictive models and forecasting tools to anticipate demand and optimize store operations.
Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor performance, and industry benchmarks to provide insights and recommendations for improving performance and experience.
Stay updated with emerging retail analytics tools, technologies, and best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Influence business partners and decision making through deep understanding of Apple business and practices
Build capabilities of individuals and team culture through effective employee development, involvement, communication and coaching
Effectively work and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree and/or Master’s degree in relevant field (MBA a plus) or equivalent experience preferred

Additional Requirements

15+ years of experience in Data Analytics/Business Intelligence or equivalent experience
10+ years of people leadership experience
Some travel is required

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $266,000 and $425,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
