Research Technician Jobs

Overview:

The Department of Developmental, Molecular and Chemical Biology conducts research of basic biochemical and molecular mechanisms involved in cell functions in both the normal and diseased states, as well as teaching students at the Medical, Dental Schools, and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

We are looking for the Research Technician to join our team. Laboratory is focused on elucidating the roles of drug-targetable cell death pathways in human diseases, such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), cancer, viral pneumonia and others. The work in the lab includes identification and optimization of the small molecule drug candidates targeting cell death, analyses of the molecular mechanisms of cell death at the cellular level, and evaluation of the mechanisms and therapeutic potential of small molecule inhibitors in animal disease models.

What You'll Do:

The Research Technician will work under close supervision of Principal Investigator to conduct a variety of experiments following established procedures and protocols, including tissue culture, western blotting, qRT-PCR immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, CRISPR-Cas9 editing, and various animal experiments. Research Technician will also be expected to record test results, data analysis using appropriate statistical software, and maintain laboratory equipment. We are looking for a highly motivated person who is interested in gradually taking over an independent project, and is able to provide a 2-year commitment.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in science with up to one year laboratory experience
• Some familiarity with laboratory techniques and procedures, including tissue culture, PCR, Western blotting, qRT-PCR and immunofluorescence is requisite.
