The Farzan laboratory focuses on vaccines and functional cures for HIV-1 and emerging viruses through B-cell engineering
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• To learn about the underlying science and goals of the laboratory
• To support the scientific efforts of one or more staff scientists or post-doctoral fellows
• To help maintain laboratory equipment and ensure inventory of laboratory reagents
• To ensure the safe operation of the laboratory
• To keep careful and accurate records
• To execute standard molecular biology, cell biology, protein chemistry, and virologic assays
• To help create a positive working environment
• To assist with basic experimental procedures using laboratory mice

Qualifications:

• Analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles
• Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing
• Interest in a long-term career in medical research
• Bachelor's degree required, preferred areas of study included Biochemistry, Immunology, Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering
